The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today.
The maps demonstrate how a park has transformed since 1920.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that this park has added and renovated some facilities mainly for recreational purposes. The most striking changes are the relocation regarding seats around the park and the only areas that remained unchanged were the entrances and a rose garden.
In the center of the park, a large fountain has been completely replaced by a square rose garden with four surrounding seats. The previous stage for musicians located in the left-hand side of the map has been converted into an amphitheater that can accommodate a much larger audience and allow for concerts to be held in the park. Both seating on the far left side of the map and the rose garden in the bottom left corner have been removed, while the rose garden in the top left corner still exists.
The northern and southern entrance has remained at their exact positions, whereas a rose garden on the right side has been replaced by a cafe and the children’s play area by a pond for water plants. At the bottom left corner of the map, the seating here has also been eliminated to build the new entrance to the underground car park, while the glasshouse has been removed in favour of the construction of a water feature.
