The pie charts illustrate what types of transportation workers in a specific city use to travel to work.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the proportion of car users registered the highest figure in the years 2005 and 2015. On the contrary, walking was the least chosen method of commute in both years in question.
In 2005, the percentage of car users accounted for the highest figure, making up a half of the total. Although this figure reduced considerably by 15% after ten years, it still retained its position as the most popular transportation. Conversely, the proportions of those walking and riding bicycles to work both held the lowest ranks in 2005, contributing 5% each. Furthermore, the latter method of commuting doubled to 10% in 2015.
The figure for workers who did not need to travel to work witnessed a slight increase from 10% to 15% after ten years. In contrast, carpools’ percentage experienced a marginal decrease from 25% to 20%. Moreover, the proportion of individuals commuting on foot remained stable at 15% in both years surveyed.
