The pictures demonstrate where a volcano is located and how a village has been transformed following a volcanic eruption. Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the volcanic eruption has caused severe damage to the island’s natural habitat and human settlement, with half of the village and nearby palm trees completely destroyed. The village on the other side of the island, however, is unaffected by the catastrophe.
From a lateral view, the volcano is situated on one end of the island surrounded by vegetation. This volcano is currently active as it emits a large amount of smoke into the atmosphere. Prior to the eruption, from a top-down view, there were many houses and palm trees scattered across the island. The accommodation was grouped into two main villages, each of which encircled a small pond.
Subsequent to the eruption, the lava flow has a devastating impact on the village immediately below the volcano, wiping out more than half the houses along with several palm trees. On the opposite side of the island, both the village and the surrounding plants have remained intact.
