Task 1: The table shows the amount of money donated by charities in the USA, EU countries, and other countries to developing nations between 2006 and 2010, measured in millions of dollars 

The table illustrates how much money was donated to developing nations by charities in the US, European countries, and other countries over a period of four years starting from 2006. From an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the amount of money donated witnessed upward trends over the period given, with charitable donations from the US increasing most rapidly. It is also noteworthy that charities in the US allocated most money to helping developing nations, followed by those in EU countries and lastly other countries. 

Looking first of all at the US, the figure for money donated by charities in this nation was greatest at 9.8 million dollars, with EU and other countries trailing considerably at 3.1 million and 2.8 million dollars, respectively. The US data thereafter surged to 17 million dollars in 2008, before dropping marginally to 16.7 million dollars in 2009 and more than recovering to finish the period at 20.3 million dollars. In contrast, EU and other countries’ statistics grew more gradually, with the former reaching 3.9 million dollars and the latter 3.5 million dollars in 2008. Similar to the US, over the following year, both EU and other countries’ numbers dipped to 3.6 million and 3.2 million dollars, for each. In 2010, the amount of money donated by charities in EU and other countries finally rebounded and achieved their respective peaks of 4.1 million and 3.7 million dollars.

Concerning the combined amount of money that charities belonging to the three categories in question donated to developing countries, the figure began at 15.7 million dollars in 2006, then spiked to 24.4 million dollars in 2008. Over the last two years, there was a drop of 0,9 million dollars in the total amount of money donated, followed by a full recovery as the figure reached a zenith of 28.1 million dollars.
