The layout / floor plan illustrates how a bookstore has transformed since 2000.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the bookstore has witnessed the reorganization of certain genre sections and become more communal, with the addition of a seating area. All of the remaining areas of the bookstore are untouched, except for a section for non-fiction publications.
Looking first at the upper part of the floor plan, a long row of bookshelf previously dedicated to only fiction books has now been divided into four smaller sections, which are art, hobbies, cookery, and fiction from left to right. On the left side of the bookstore, the sections for new and travel books, service desk, and entrance all remained unaltered.
Since the sections for the three genres have been relocated, the empty space in the center of the bookstore has now been occupied by three tables, with an area for non-fiction books nearby being replaced by a cafe. Finally, there were no changes made to a large section for fiction books in the upper right corner of the bookstore.
