The graph illustrates the percentage of demographics of a specific nation belonging to various age groups over a period of eighty years starting from 1960. Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the proportion of those aged from 0 to 14 and from 15 to 64 have witnessed downward trends between 1960 and 2040, while the opposite pattern has been observed with the oldest age bracket. The majority of this country’s population was from 15 to 64 years old throughout the period.
In 1960, those aged over 65 represented the least significant segment of the population at only 16%, more than half of those belonging to the 0 to 14 age range at precisely 30%. Over the following 30 years, the over 65 age bracket’s figure grew, whereas the 0 to 14 age group’s data declined, with both converging at exactly 20%. The latter figure thereafter continued its gradual decline, and is predicted to finish at 10% and the latter also followed its trajectory and will end at around 45%.
Concerning the final age group, individuals aged 15 to 64 accounted for the largest percentage of the population in 1960 at approximately 55%. This figure then experienced minor fluctuations over the next forty years, before displaying a moderate decline to 50% in 2020 and a slight drop to culminate at 45%.
