Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that all pineapples undergo two main stages, which are growing and processing. The latter stage is
further divided into three production types, where pineapples will be extracted for juice, canned or exported based on their size.
The process commences when pineapples are planted in sunny regions with temperature ranging from 28°C to 30°C. Pineapples are thereafter harvested at 26 cm, 28 cm and lastly 30 cm (weighing up to 2 kilograms) after an extra five-month period and the introduction of chemicals to stimulate pineapple growth.
The next step involves the pineapples being rinsed and separated into three distinct categories. Both small and medium-sized pineapples will have their crowns removed and rinds peeled, with the former being extracted for juice and the latter sliced into small pieces to be canned at a later stage. In contrast, the larger 30-centimeter pineapples are waxed, and stacked in wooden crates before being shipped overseas.
