Water-filter assembly

The diagram below shows a simple system that turns dirty  water into clean water.

The diagram illustrates a system of two containers that purify water. Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the process is divided into a total of three main stages. These include pouring unclean water, then filtering through multiple layers, and lastly the release of clean water into a cup.

At the beginning of the process, after dirty water is collected, it is manually poured into a plastic barrel equipped with a removable lid. The plastic barrel, which serves as the primary filtration unit, is slightly elevated and designed to let water travel downward under the force of gravity. The unclean water slowly passes through successive layers of sand, charcoal, and gravel to become clean. A tube connected to this elevated barrel is thereafter responsible for transferring the pure water to a storage drum.

In the following steps, clean water is stored in a lower drum with a closed lid. There is a tap located at the bottom of the drum to allow water to flow out into a cup for consumption.
