The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
The diagram illustrates the process involved in the production of bamboo fabric. Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the process of creating fabric from bamboo is divided into a combination of three natural and manmade stages. These include bamboo cultivation and harvesting, then industrial processing, and lastly transformation into wearables.
Initially, bamboo plants are grown in spring and thereafter manually harvested with a knife in autumn once they have reached maturity. Subsequently, the stalks are then mechanically cut into strips by a circular saw prior to being crushed to manufacture liquid pulp.
In the following industrial stage, a funnel is utilized to separate long fibres from the liquid fabricated in the previous stage. Water and a chemical compound called amine oxide is then introduced to soften the fibres, enabling them to be spun into a ball of thread. Finally, this thread can be woven into larger pieces of cloth to serve as raw material for making usable garments.
