The table delineates how many potatoes are consumed and produced in various areas globally in 2006
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that Europe was the leading potato consumer, while the opposite was the case for Africa. The quantities of potato manufactured in Asia/Oceania, Europe and North America were by far more significant than Africa, and South and Central America.
Most potatoes were consumed in Europe at 96.1 kilograms per individual, with North America’s figure trailing considerably at 57.9 kilograms. Asia/Oceania, and South and Central America’s levels of potato consumption per person were comparable at 25.8 and 23.6 kilograms, which was slightly higher than Africa’s at 14.1 kilograms.
Asia/Oceania was the largest potato producer, with a total output of 131.2 million tonnes, followed closely by Europe at 126.3 million. North America, Africa, and South and Central America’s statistics were lower by a wide margin, accounting for 24.7 million, 16.4 million, and 15.6 million, respectively.
