Process #3

The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

The diagram illustrates how sugar canes are grown and processed into sugar for consumption.

Overall, the production of sugar can be divided into a total of seven steps, which is organized into three main stages. These include raising sugar canes in fields, then harvesting, and lastly processing in factories.

The process commences with growing sugar canes, which requires at least around 12 months and maximum 18 months for them to reach full maturity. These plants thereafter are either harvested through the utilization of agricultural machinery or manually by farmers with a curved blade. In the next step, sugar canes are placed inside a juice extractor, leaving only their residue behind.

The process continues with the extracted juice being purified through a limestone filter before being heated at high temperatures and transformed into syrup. A centrifuge is then responsible for separating sugar crystals from syrup and creating raw sugar. In the last stage, the final product is dried and cooled in a huge container and is then ready for distribution.
