The cyclical diagram illustrates the process by which plastic bottles are recycled.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that there are three main stages for recycling bottles, which include discarding, followed by processing in waste centers and lastly conversion into new products for further usage.
In the first stage, plastic bottles are collected by specialized garbage trucks after being disposed of in recycling dumpsters by citizens. These bottles are thereafter categorized by hand as either recyclable or non-recyclable, with the former then being compressed into large square blocks. Rotating wheels are then responsible for crushing these blocks into tiny pieces to be rinsed in a cleaning container.
In the next stage, plastic pellets are first generated through a specialized machine before being gathered into a pile to be heated and formed into a raw material for recomposition. Finally, this raw material is stacked neatly on trays and ready to be transformed into a wide range of reusable items such as plastic containers, bags, pencils and clothing. These products themselves are recyclable and the process commences again when they are then later discarded.
