US families’ annual income

The bar chart delineates the figures for US families separated into five pay brackets from 2007 to 2015

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the numbers of households earning less than $25,000, $25,000-$49,999, and $100,000 or over rose slightly and dominated over the period in terms of overall figures. On the contrary, the remaining categories’ data were virtually unchanged and less notable generally

In 2007, nearly 30 million households were represented in the $100,000 or more bracket, followed by 27 million, 25 million, 21 million, and 14 million families belonging to the $25,000-49,999, less than $25,000, $50,000-$74,999 and $75,000 to $99,999 pay scales, respectively. The most affluent households thereafter declined to 28 million, while the least and second least wealthiest grew to around 29 million and precisely 30 million, for each in 2011, with the middle-income groups’ alterations in earnings being negligible.

In 2015, families with the highest annual salaries witnessed a surge to reach 33 million, whereas the lowest earning households dipped marginally to about 27 million. Households earning $75,000-$99,999 increased slightly to end at exactly 15 million, while the $75,000-$99,999 salary demographic continued to remain unchanged.
